This important volume encompasses a selection of Max Weber’s best cubist works and includes readings of Weber’s paintings as well as entries on key cubist works by Marsden Hartley, Stuart Davis, Hans Hofmann, Charles Sheeler, Morgan Russell, Stanton Macdonald-Wright, Alice Trumbull Mason, and David Smith, among many others. Filling in a missing piece of one of the twentieth century’s most influential movements, this critical reevaluation is long overdue.
I worked closely with Bill Agee and Pam Koob to track down all of the images in what will prove to be a seminal book about American Cubism. It is due to be released at the end of March 2023.

Publisher: Rizzoli Electa
Illustrated with more than 275 images that explore Rothko’s paintings, prints, and works on paper, this book highlights the best-known and also lesser-known works by the artist—from his early figurative and Surrealist works to his mesmerizing color-field paintings of immense scale to the more restricted palette of his luminous later works and his final series of black-and-gray paintings.
I helped the Rothko family, Christopher Rothko and Kate Rothko Prizel, to track down some of Mark Rothko’s more obscure works in private collections and international museums to obtain high resolution digital files and to arrange for new photography to be shot. The book was released in November 2022.

Prompted by the closing of New York’s famed CBGB, Rhona Bitner embarked on a thirteen-year journey to photograph 403 venues across twenty-six states and eighty-nine cities—the studios, concert halls, arenas, high schools, bars, ballrooms, prisons, and fields where the most memorable songs were inspired, recorded, performed, and listened to. Close to 300 of those photographs are included in this book.
