Author: Christopher Rothko and Kate Rothko Prizel and Alexander Nemerov and Hiroshi Sugimoto
Publisher: Rizzoli Electa
Illustrated with more than 275 images that explore Rothko’s paintings, prints, and works on paper, this book highlights the best-known and also lesser-known works by the artist—from his early figurative and Surrealist works to his mesmerizing color-field paintings of immense scale to the more restricted palette of his luminous later works and his final series of black-and-gray paintings.
I helped the Rothko family, Christopher Rothko and Kate Rothko Prizel, to track down some of Mark Rothko’s more obscure works in private collections and international museums to obtain high resolution digital files and to arrange for new photography to be shot. The book was released in November 2022.
